website! We offer PADI scuba
diving lessons and specialty classes, CPR and First Aid classes, EFR
Instructor level classes, DAN classes, and DAN Instructor level classes in the
Dallas, Texas and the Dallas Metroplex Area and scuba
diving trips to Cozumel and other scuba diving destinations. We
are PADI, EFR and Dan instructors located in the Old Lake
Highlands area of Dallas, Texas. Life is an Adventure!

PADI Assistant
Instructor:
Tell me about the class.
The course has to be conducted over at
least a 3 day period. It can be done in as little as a 3 day period or over a longer period of time.
The program must be conducted at a 5 star or higher PADI
facility. We rent a classroom at one of the
area 5 star or higher PADI facilities. We use
several dependent upon the facility schedule.
You obtain the materials and prepare for the class by self-study by using the
materials contained in the PADI IDC Crew Pak which
includes the PADI Instructor Manual, Business of Diving, Law and the Diving Professional, The Best of the Undersea Journal,
Children and Scuba Diving and referring to recent Undersea Journal articles in the Instructor Candidate Workbook.
Prior to the start of an Instructor Development Course, Assistant Instructor Course or OWSI program, an individual must complete all 16 IDC Knowledge Reviews. These are contained in the Instructor Candidate Workbook.
In class:
-
Attend the seven Assistant Instructor ("AI") Curriculum Components including: -
Course Orientation -
Learning, Instruction and the PADI System -
PADI Discover Scuba and Snorkeling Programs -
Developing Knowledge Development Presentations -
Teaching Project Aware and Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialties -
Teaching in Confined Water -
Conducting Open Water Training Presentations
-
Present at least two evaluated knowledge development teaching presentations and score a 3.5 or higher on at least one presentation -
Score 75 percent or higher on the Assistant Instructor Standards Exam and have any missed questions reviewed until mastery is achieved. Scores less than 75 percent require a retest.
In the Pool:
-
Present at least two evaluated confined water teaching presentations and score a 3.4 or higher on at least one presentation -
Demonstrate competence at performing all 20 dive skills listed on the Skill Evaluation. Candidates must earn 68 total points, with no individual score below 3
