What you will do n the Rescue Diver Class.   You need to read the entire Rescue Diver manual, complete the knowledge reviews located at the end of each chapter and watch the entire Rescue Diver DVD prior to first class meeting.  In the classroom, we will go over the knowledge reviews located at the end of each of the 5 chapters; students will also prepare an emergency assistance plan for the location where the rescue scenarios will be conducted; and a 50 question final exam will be administered.  In the pool, we will introduce 10 rescue exercises during the training sessions and various techniques to students and students get to practice the different techniques.  During the practice sessions, students will discover which techniques work better for them in different situations.  The Rescue Diver Course philosophy is that there is no single "right" way to perform a rescue, but rather many workable options.  The confined water pool sessions give students the opportunity to try different options.  At the lake, if all 10 of the rescue exercises are completed in the confined water pool sessions, then the 4 rescue scenarios may be completed in one day at the lake.  The scenarios are realistic giving students the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills learned in the classroom and in the pool in a realistic context, providing additional learning.   The end result is a rewarding and fun experience building confidence.  Click here for information on the Rescue Diver Course

Materials Required:  Rescue Diver Crew Pak (contains manual, log book pages, slate and certificate suitable for framing) and Rescue Diver DVD (included in course price)

Equipment:  You will need a mask, fins/booties, snorkel, tank, regulator, bcd, weights and weight belt for the pool training sessions.  Price of course does not cover equipment rental. Click here for rental rates.
