This is the certification course for the DAN Oxygen First Aid for Aquatics (Swimming pools).   Scroll down for information

 

This course trains non-divers and professional rescuers (such as lifeguards) to recognize near-drowning / submersion incidents and other aquatic medical emergencies and to provide basic life support including the use of oxygen first aid

This course, Oxygen First Aid for Aquatic Emergencies, or Aquatic Oxygen Provider, represents training designed to educate the public to recognize possible aquatic related injuries and to provide emergency oxygen first aid while activating the local emergency medical services (EMS) and / or arranging for evacuation to the nearest medical facility.

What you will learn:  You will learn how to: describe the role and function of the cardiac and respiratory systems in the human body; identify and describe the major causes of aquatic accidents; describe the mechanisms of drowning; and describe the benefits to the victim of using oxygen first aid.

What you will do:  You will read the manual and complete the knowledge reviews located in the manual.  In class, you will go over the knowledge reviews; watch a video; participate in (i) an hands-on skill development session and (ii) a practice skill scenario workshop;  and take a 20 question exam. 

Materials Need:  Oxygen First Aid for Aquatics Manual and a non-rebreather mask (included in course price)

How long does it take:  4 to 5 hours

Cost:  $79.99 - Price includes everything you need for the course.  It includes the Oxygen First Aid for Aquatics Manual, first aid pocket guide, non-rebreather mask and certification card.
