The Advanced Oxygen First Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course provides additional training for
those individuals who have successfully completed the DAN Oxygen First
Aid for Scuba Diving Injuries course within the past year (12 months).
Prerequisites: Current CPR
certification and Oxygen Provider training within 12 months.
What you will do: Read the DAN Advanced Oxygen First Aid
for Scuba Diving Injuries Student Handbook and complete the review
questions before coming to class. During class, you will
(a) watch a short video, (b) go over the review questions, (c) participate in an hands-on skill
workshop and (d) take a 10-question exam.
You will learn how to use a Manually Triggered Ventilator
(MTV-100) and a Bag Valve Mask (BVM) while providing care for a
non-breathing injured diver and activating the local
emergency medical services (EMS) and/or arranging for evacuation to the
nearest available medical facility.
