DAN First Aid for Hazardous
Marine Life Injuries
Serious hazardous marine life injuries are rare, but most divers
experience minor discomfort from unintentional encounters with fire
coral, jellyfish and other marine creatures. This course teaches divers
to minimize these injuries and reduce diver discomfort and pain.
Open to divers and non-divers.
Requirements: Must be 10 years old. Strongly recommended to be currently certified in CPR/First Aid
How long does it take: About 2 hours.
What you will do: Read the DAN First Aid
for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries Student Handbook and
complete the review questions prior to coming to class.
In class, you will (a) watch a short video, (b)
go over the review questions, (c) participate in a skills practice session and (d) take a 20-question
quiz.
Materials Needed: Student Handbook for First Aid for
Hazardous Marine Life Injuries.
