The deposit
of $60 covers the cost of the Manual and DVD for each of CPR/First Aid
and Care for Children and DVD for each of CPR/First Aid and Care.
How long
will it take: If
you have read the the whole book, completed the knowledge review and
watched the entire video prior to coming to class about 4 to 6 hours
dependent upon class size.

If you need a class, we will schedule one for you at no extra cost.
What will
you do: Read the entire book and watch the
DVD for each of the CPR and First Aid course and Care for Children
course prior to coming to class. In class, we will go over the
knowledge reviews. You will participate in hands-on skill practice
and a skill scenario workshop. There is a 35-question exam for the
CPR, a 10-question exam for the First Aid and a 15-question exam for the
Care for Children course. In the CPR Course, you will
learn about
Scene Assessment,
Barrier Use, Primary Assessment, Rescue Breathing, One Rescuer, Adult
CPR, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management , Spinal Injury
Management, Recommended Skill – Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Use using an AED Trainer, Recommended Skill – Conscious Choking Adult
learning how to help a conscious shocking adult and Recommended
Skill-Emergency Oxygen Use through orientation of oxygen equipment. In
the First Aid Course, you will lean about injuries or illnesses
that are not immediately life threatening or when local EMS is
unavailable or delayed. C You focus on secondary assessment and first
aid through knowledge development, skill development and realistic
scenario practice. The Secondary Care (first aid) skills are
Injury Assessment, Illness Assessment, Bandaging and Splint for
Dislocation and Fractures. Care for Children is integrated into
each course.
What do you
need to start? A desire to learn CPR and first aid. No diver
certification required. No minimum age.
Materials Needed: Manual and video/DVD for the CPR/First
Aid course and manual and video/DVD for the Care for Children course
(all materials included in course price)
Assignment before coming to class: You need to have read the manual for each of the
CPR/First Aid and Care for Children course, completed the knowledge
reviews located in each manual and watched the video for each of
CPR/First Aid and Care for Children prior to coming
to class.
