Boat Diver Specialty (a 2 dive specialty):

Counts toward the Master Scuba Diver Certification

What do you need to start?:  Must be at least 10 years old and certified as a Junior Open Water Diver or an Open Water Diver .

Price - $125 - price includes Boat Diver Manual and DVD, certification card, picture for certification card and two dives under the supervision of an instructor.  If you have done a boat dive in connection with your Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver certification, provide us with a copy of the Adventure Log book page signed by your instructor evidencing that you have turned in the knowledge review and completed the dive.   We will subtract $25 from the cost of the specialty.

Why take the Boat Diver Specialty?  You will learn about techniques and procedures about diving on different kinds of boats.

What you will do:  Read the chapter on Boat Diving in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete the knowledge review located at the end of the chapter.  You will learn about the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of boat diving, proper boat diving etiquette -- storage of personal equipment, personal conduct and considerations for care of the boat, basic, common boat terminology, specific boat diving laws and/or ordinances, local boat diving laws and/or ordinances, and overview of emergency/safety equipment needed on-board private diving vessels. You will do two dives under the supervision of an instructor.  Before each dive, the instructor will brief the dive, you will dive the dive and after each dive, the instructor will debrief the dive.  Click here for information about the dives.

Materials Needed:  Boat Diver Manual and DVD.  Cost:  $53.20 + tax
