Boat Diver Specialty
(a 2 dive specialty):
Counts toward the
Master Scuba Diver
Certification
What do you need to start?: Must be at least
10 years old and certified as a Junior Open Water Diver
or an Open Water Diver .
Price - $125 - price includes Boat Diver Manual and
DVD, certification card,
picture for certification card and two dives under the
supervision of an instructor.
If you have done a boat dive in connection with
your Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
certification, provide us with a copy of the Adventure
Log book page signed by your instructor evidencing that
you have turned in the knowledge review and completed
the dive. We will subtract $25 from the cost
of the specialty.
Why take the Boat Diver Specialty? You will
learn about techniques and procedures about diving on
different kinds of boats.
What you will do: Read the chapter on Boat
Diving in the Adventures in Diving Manual and complete
the knowledge review located at the end of the chapter.
You will learn about
the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and
hazards of boat diving, proper boat diving etiquette -- storage of personal equipment, personal conduct and considerations for care of the boat, basic, common boat terminology,
specific boat diving laws and/or ordinances, local boat diving laws and/or ordinances,
and overview of emergency/safety equipment needed on-board private diving vessels.
You will do two dives under the supervision of an
instructor. Before each dive, the instructor will
brief the dive, you will dive the dive and after each
dive, the instructor will debrief the dive.

Class Dates: Dives can be done on most lake weekends (but
not available at all dive locations) or trip.

You will need to turn in the knowledge review prior to
certification or provide a copy of an Adventure Log
signed by an appropriate instructor if you have already
