Coral Reef Conservation

Classroom only but counts toward Master Scuba Diver Certification.

Why take the Coral Reef Conservation Specialty? The AWARE - Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course teaches divers, snorkelers and nondivers about the vital role of coral reefs in the marine environment. The course also familiarizes participants with the current state of the world's coral reefs and how they can help.

What do you need to start: An interest in the aquatic world. You do not have to be certified and there is no age requirement

What you will do: Read Chapter 4 out of the A.W.A.R.E. - Our World Our Water manual. You will watch a short video and complete a knowledge review in class.

How long does it take? About two hours.

Price with Materials - Special Pricing for 2008 Year of the Living Reef - $55 usually $85 - includes classroom session, manual, certification card and picture for certification card

Price without Materials - Special Pricing for 2008 Year of the Living Reef - $20 usually $50 includes classroom session, picture for certification card and certification card. This is option is for those students that already have the manual i.e. you have taken the Project Aware Specialty and purchased the manual for that specialty.
