SCUBA DIVING
Why Take Discover Scuba Diving? You can
check out scuba diving to see if it is for you without
having to pay a lot of money or take a lot of time. It's a great way
to see if you are going to like scuba diving before you
sign up for a class. It's fun, it doesn't take a
lot of time and it does not cost a lot to do.
Experience Program only. The Discover Scuba
Diving does not result in certification. It is
only for experience but a great way to check out scuba
diving before you enroll in class. To get a
certification, you need to do the Scuba Diver or
the Open Water Diver certifications. The Scuba
Diver allows you to go to a maximum of 40 feet while
under the supervision of a Professional (Divemaster or
above). The Open Water Diver
certification allows you to dive independently with a
buddy without supervision.
What do you need to start: You need to be
at least 10 years old and you need to
complete and sign a Discover Scuba Diving Brochure.
Materials Needed: A Discover Scuba Diving
Brochure
How to get started: Call us at 214-505-0713 or

Class
Assignment: Just come to class. We will
show you a short video and have you complete the
appropriate forms including the Discover Scuba Diving
Brochure.
We offer four options for you:
Option 1: Discover Scuba Diving Pool
Experience
We do it in our swimming pool or swimming pool like
conditions.
Cost: $35 per person
How long does it take: Takes about two
hours from start to finish.
What do you need to bring: We provide
everything for you. All you need to bring is a
towel and your swimsuit.
What you will do: It's fun, easy and safe! This is what you do:
-
You need to be at least 10 years old
-
You will need to read and complete a Discover Scuba
Diving Brochure (we have those for you)
-
You watch a short Discover Scuba Diving Video or go
through the Discover Scuba Diving Flip chart with
us - takes about 20 minutes and is easy!
-
Then we get ready to get into the pool.
-
We fit you for a mask, fins, snorkel, weight belt and
bcd (to make sure that you will be comfortable)
-
We show you how to prepare your mask with defog (so that
you will be able to see underwater)
-
We get into the pool first. We help you to get into the pool.
-
We assist you with putting on your bcd with tank and
regulator and with donning your fins, mask and snorkel.
-
Then we show you some very basic skills - like how to
get the water out of your regulator before you put it in
your mouth and how to breathe off of a regulator under
water.
-
Then fun! First you swim around in the
shallow area. When you are comfortable, we take
you on a tour in the deeper water. You get to
dive!
