Underwater
Navigator Specialty (a 3 dive specialty)
Counts toward the
Master Scuba Diver
Certification
What you need to start: Must be at least 10 years
old and certified as a Junior Open Water Diver or an Open Water Diver.
Why take the Underwater Navigator Specialty:
When you're underwater, knowing where you
are and where you're going comes in handy, especially if
you're looking for that beautiful reef that you've heard
all about. The Underwater Navigator Specialty
course will help you become a pro at finding your way
underwater.
What you will do: Read the Underwater
Navigation Specialty manual and complete Knowledge
Reviews Parts I and II.
You will learn about
planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of
underwater navigation,
methods of estimating distances underwater, natural navigation techniques, using underwater patterns, dive site relocation techniques, compass navigation techniques,
and how to use a navfinder. You will get to use
your new knowledge during the 3 dives under the
supervision of an instructor.
Click here for information on the dives.
Materials needed: Underwater Navigator Manual
(included in price of course).
Recommended: DVD ($27 + tax)
and Nav-Finder. ($32 + tax))
Price with materials - $125
includes Manual, picture for certification card, certification card and 3
dives under instructor supervision. Add $27 if you want to
purchase the dvd. Add $32 for Nav-Finder. If you have done an underwater navigation dive
in connection with your Adventure Diver certification, provide us
with a copy of the Adventure Log book page signed by your instructor
evidencing that you have turned in the knowledge review and completed
the dive or if you have the Advanced Open Water Diver Certificate
(requires an underwater navigation dive), we will subtract $25 from the
cost of the specialty.
How to Get Started:
Call
us at 214-505-0713 or
click
here to email us.
You can come buy
to pick up the materials or we can have them delivered to your home or
office.
Class Dates: Dives can be done on any lake weekend or trip.

calendar.
Independent Study: Read the entire Underwater Navigator
Manual and complete the knowledge reviews.
You will need to turn in the knowledge reviews prior to certification.
Recommended: watch video/DVD.

natural navigation.

reciprocal using a compass.
