Underwater Photography Specialty (a 2 dive specialty)

Counts toward the Master Scuba Diver Certification Certification

What do you need to start?  Must be at least 10 years old and certified as a Junior Open Water Diver or an Open Water Diver or have a qualifying certification from another training organization.

Why take the Underwater Photography Specialty?   The Underwater Photographer Specialty course can help you learn how to take your fist underwater photographs or fine tune your existing skills to produce photographs that will stun your friends.

What you will do:  Read the Underwater Photography Specialty manual and complete Knowledge Reviews Parts I and II.  Learn about the planning, organization, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of underwater-photography diving; photographic principles, composition, film types, flash/available light photography and camera-handling techniques; and the preparation, care and maintenance of photographic equipment. You will get to use your new knowledge during the 2 dives done under the supervision of an instructor.  Click here for information about the dives.

Materials Needed:  Underwater Photography Manual (included in course price).  Recommended:  video/DVD ($23.96)

Cost - $125 includes manual, use of an underwater camera for the class, picture for certification card, certification card and 2 dives under instructor supervision.  Recommended: video/dvd, add $23.96 for video/dvd.  If you have done an underwater photography dive in connection with your Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver certification, provide us with a copy of the Adventure Log book page signed by your instructor evidencing that you have turned in the knowledge review and completed the dive.   We will subtract $25 from the cost of the specialty.

How to Get Started:  Call us at 214-505-0713 or click here to email us.     You can come buy to pick up the materials or we will deliver to your home or office.

Independent Study:  Need one classroom prior to making dives.  Read the entire Underwater Photography Specialty Manual and complete the Knowledge Reviews Parts I and II.  Recommended:   Watch the entire video/DVD.  You will need to turn in the knowledge reviews prior to certification.

Class Dates:  Dives can be done on any lake weekend or any trip.   Click here for our training calendar.
